I’m a graduate student in urban policy studies and GIS at Georgia State University in Atlanta. I attended Furman University, graduating in 2001 with a B.A. in Philosophy. After graduation, I served for four years as an officer in the United States Army. I was stationed at Fort Campbell, Kentucky, with the 101st Airborne Division. I spent a year in Iraq as the Medical Officer and HHC Executive Officer for an infantry battalion stationed just south of Mosul.
After the military, I moved to Lawrence, Kansas, for a year and met my girlfriend, Tamara. We currently live in a suburb of Atlanta.
In 2004, I coauthored the graphic novel war memoir War Haiku.
